BRONZE GUARANTEED . . . GOING FOR THE GOLD

The Women's Fours Team USA bowled their A game today and beat England 20-9 in the quarter finals. They meet Wales in the morning's semi-finals. GO TEAM!

Olson came from behind to tie Wales' at 17 in the Men's Singles quarter finals this afternoon but gave up 3 shots in the next end. With Wales holding 2 shots, Jim's 3rd bowl drew closer to the jack for point, only to have Wales take shot point with his 4th bowl. Sadly, Jim's final shot didn't quite reach the target.

Keep your fingers crossed for the Women's Fours Team tomorrow . . .

Monday Update

Lots of spectators . . .

Sunday was a good day for the women; Reggie beat Brazil 21-14 in Singles, and our Fours Team beat Cyprus 19-18. The men's Team started the day right with Olson defeating Canada 21-19, and the Fours Team taking the win against Cyprus 20-16. Sadly, Olson lost the afternoon Singles match to Israel 16-21 and the Four Team lost to Netherlands 6-22.

This beautiful Monday morning wasn't so great for Olson and Reggie who lost their matches 15-21 to Ireland and 20-21 Namibia, respectively. Reggie fought a tough battle against Portugal to win 21-20, but Olson lost to South Africa 10-21. The Fours Team is in progress at the moment but a win doesn't look promising with a deficit of more than 10 points.

Men and women will be back at it tomorrow morning in the Fours competition and again in the afternoon. Olson will be back on the best running green against South Africa and Jersey, as will Reggie against Spain in the morning match.

GO TEAM USA!!!

UPDATE from Team USA at AC-2009

The men's Triples team (Charlie-Richard-Ivan) made it to the quarter finals and played a heck-of-a-game against S.A. team. They enjoyed leading with a big score spread most of the game but S.A. caught up to tie in the 18th end and won by one point in the play-off end.

The women's Triples team (Reggie-Jan-Marita) won their final game against Portugal.

Pairs and Triples finals are being played at the moment and Team USA will be back on the greens tomorrow morning to begin the Singles and Fours competition.

Thunder storms and lightning were major detriments to players for a couple of games.

The Hylands' daughter hosted a Team dinner Thursday evening to celebrate Ivan's birthday. Below is a picture.

Results can be found at World Bowls link.

More will be posted at a convenient opportunity (which are few and far between).
